== Observational Status == Monitoring of snowmelt runoff contribution is ongoing but varies in coverage and resolution depending on regional infrastructure and data availability. Established datasets from NSIDC and WGMS offer valuable historical and contemporary observations of snow and glacier conditions. Hydrologic measurements at basin outlets provide direct discharge data, while modeling efforts continue to refine estimates of meltwater contributions. Future SIGNAL releases may incorporate improved temporal resolution, expanded geographic coverage, and integration with climate model outputs to enhance understanding of snowmelt runoff dynamics under changing climate conditions. Continued development of remote sensing and in situ monitoring networks will support more detailed and timely assessments.
