== Boundary Conditions == Boundary inclusions encompass all terrestrial wetland types as classified by standard wetland inventories, including marshes, swamps, bogs, fens, and mangroves where they occur on land. The measurement includes both permanent and seasonal wetlands subject to hydrological fluctuations. Boundary exclusions involve aquatic systems not classified as wetlands, such as open water bodies like lakes and rivers, as well as artificial water features like reservoirs. Wetlands submerged permanently under marine conditions or tidal zones beyond the terrestrial interface are excluded. Additionally, changes in wetland quality or function without area change are not captured by this signal.
