== Boundary Conditions == Boundary inclusions encompass all forms of snow accumulation within terrestrial snowpacks that contribute to seasonal water storage, including both fresh snowfall and snow metamorphosed through compaction and sublimation processes. The signal excludes transient surface frost, ice layers not contributing to meltwater, and snowpack components that do not contribute materially to runoff, such as sublimated or wind-redistributed snow beyond the measurement area. It also excludes snow water equivalent in glacial ice or perennial snowfields that do not participate in seasonal melt cycles. Spatially, the signal is confined to terrestrial snowpack areas and excludes snow over open water or sea ice.
