Ocean salinity is monitored using a combination of in situ and remote sensing methods. These instruments measure electrical conductivity, temperature, and pressure to derive salinity values. Satellite missions provide surface salinity estimates through microwave radiometry, enabling broad spatial coverage and frequent temporal sampling.
